The design of Shimao Link Park is inspired by the concept of a docking station, a place where people can plug into various modes of life. The mall is designed to adapt to the customers' work-life balance, align with their space-time orbit, and accord with their personal hotspots. The introduction of "docks" for instant plug-in of various activities brings in new energy, transforming the mall into a hub for work, play, and socializing.

What sets Shimao Link Park apart is its emphasis on agility and mobility. The advanced mobility of technology and personal mobile devices provides great flexibility for shoppers and tech-talents to work, play, and socialize around the clock without any boundary. This new hybrid between the shopping mall and the co-functioning space caters to the modern nomadic lifestyle, allowing people to shift the purpose of shopping, to working or exercising within a mall to fit their personal priorities.

The design of Shimao Link Park is a testament to the innovative use of forms, colors, and materials. Each "docking" spot is highlighted with monochromatic yellow to emphasize its importance. These docking spots act as people attractors, generating bustling hotspots that create energy and synergy with the surrounding trade and tenant mix. The streamlined spandrel and atrium profiles flow through the mall, connecting various mall life components in a background of mobility.

The design process of Shimao Link Park was not without its challenges. The design team had to restructure the mall programs to combine working, leisure, and retail. This new hybrid of shopping programs pushed the boundaries of what a shopping mall could be, resulting in a multipurpose space for different program uses, a seamless space for working, leisure, and retail. This resulted in a mall that is gradually borderless, coinciding a mix and match of activities and possibilities, and stimulating the co-working and co-living potentials of both tenant shops and common area.

Shimao Link Park is a winner of the prestigious Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
